Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Max Ehrmann

What do you think you can buy here?
Final Days of Cali
We went out to the Cheesecake Factory for our last dinner in California. It is a nice spot, because 1) it looks over the water and has some pretty views so we could get some last minute Pacific Ocean in us and 2) the kids are content with it (always a huge plus) and 3) dessert, of course! Although with Zoey we don't always get cheesecake, but Linda's Fudgecake!! thanks Rachel. If you like a chocolate cake, this is a good one. Anyway, here are photos from our dinner. Fitting in many ways actually... as I have mentioned... this is the actual place where Ross and I had our first date, and then go back to it (or some Cheesecake Factory) every year on the day, so it was neat to go as a family one last time.

Legoland
So Legoland was pretty cool. It is a park specifically for 2-12 year olds, so it really was perfect for us. The day was a little cloudy, so it wasn't too hot, and not very crowded, so we didn't have to wait in too many long lines. We actually went on a rollercoaster ride three times before we left because we didn't have to wait in line. The kids loved it! So we rode in the front and in the back and in the middle!! It was a good day. The only bad thing is that we forgot to walk through the walking part and see all of Las Vegas and DC made out of Legos!! We did see New York... Pretty impressive:

Here are the kids standing in front of a triceratops made out of legos...

They had driving school. The 3-5 year old course was actually a little track and the kids had to press the gas pedal and steer. Both kids did great. Max did some crashes and when some adults on the outside laughed, he kept doing it and thinking it was hilarious. I thought he was going to get kicked out by the workers because he was crashing on purpose. But at the end they each got a drivers license!! Cute. They also had a full size Volvo made out of Legos!! Here is Max, smiling away. I think this is after his crashing episodes...

Here is Zoey being oh-so-serious...
Here is Max cracking up while riding a horse. He kept saying, "I'm bouncing, I'm bouncing, hahahahha!!

Here they are on a ride that goes up and drops them down...

Here is Zoey on a boat with New York City in the background. And then with a big Lego Statue.

For Uncle Jeff
Uncle Jeff,
Going to Legoland introduced me to Lego building. My daddy and I built this and took a picture for you.
love, Max

Your FJ Cruiser, miniaturized and Lego'd.

It's like the big box the toy came in...
You know... you buy a big present for the kids and they get more enjoyment from the box it came in than the toy itself, at least at first. Well, I was feeling bad for the kids sitting around all day while the movers were in our house, and then driving down to San Diego, sitting in the car, BUT no need... The funnest thing in days happened to be right in our hotel room! The BED! We were on the first floor, and the kids loved loved loved jumping on the bed. So we just let them. It was kind of funny. We don't really let them jump on the beds at home, but as soon as we walked into our hotel room, they immediately saw a jumping room! And it wasn't just a couple of jumps, oh, no... You don't get this sweaty from a couple of jumps:

Furry Boys
When the packers and movers were at our house, the weather was cool. We had a couple of doors open because they were going in and out frequently. And for some unknown reason, my kids HATE wearing long sleeves. So I was trying to convince Zoey and Max to put on sweatshirts, when Zoey finally gave in. Max held his ground though and Zoey said, "Well, that is because boys don't get as cold as girls. They have more fur! Well, Max doesn't really have any, but most do, like Daddy." She is right, too. Max has really little hair, he got the asian part in him, where Zoey does, poor girl. She even calls her little arm hairs fur.

Happy Anniversary
Ross and I got to celebrate our anniversary with a fabulous dinner out. We are in Phoenix with my parents, now, so we actually got to go out on the day of our anniversary. Here we are:

We celebrated our 7th anniversary on 7/7!! Should have bought a lottery ticket:) Lots of catch up photos and stuff to post, so stay tuned! And I changed our photo above, but it is temporary. That was our last sunset and sandcastle building, so I am in need of a new title!! Any thoughts?

SEA WORLD
We have been in San Diego for a couple of days. It is so nice here. Definitely one of our favorite places. It has lots of the good stuff of California, but much more laid back than LA. We went to Sea World! We started the day with Breakfast with Shamu! We actually saw a killer whale named Coco. Here is Max sitting at the table eating breakfast.

And here is Zoey watching the whale.

This shows how close we were to the whale. Zoey is right in front of the lady with the hat. It was pretty cool. And the food was good too.

The entire day was actually very, very good. The kids did so great. We went a couple of years ago and stayed about 3 hours. This time we made it almost 8! They had a new Sesame Street section for younger kids with small rides and a great rope climbing/maze area. The kids loved it. Here is a self-pic of me and Zoey on
Elmo's Flying Fish ride.

Here is Max and Ross. Max wanted to return to this section all day. When we finally went back to it, he patiently waited in line for over 30 minutes to ride it again!! And after all of 2 minutes it was done, and he wanted to wait to ride it again! He did so great. We were very proud of them. Zoey was really good, too, but she always is with these kinds of things. She was so excited on the drive over that the ride to the park was exciting.

And just one last picture of the kids:

We spent today at Coronado Island and the beach and tomorrow we are heading to Legoland!! Should be another adventure!!
