June Ten on the Tenth

This is really behind... oy! and you know what? I totally forgot to do it in July. I was so bummed. We were in Arizona with my parents too...

Anyway, June 11th...

Good morning sunshine... Ross in the morning, without having to work or anything... awesome!

We were at Ross's parents house. Getting ready for the day!

And when you haven't lived super close to Costco in 5 years, well, that is an exciting visit...Ross checking out some tile.

Just a middle of the day picture that was dark for some reason...(user error)

And back in the real world with traffic and stuff... We headed out so Zoey could try out for a soccer team...
image 8

I just took one quick picture and put the camera away. She was nervous enough because she was the only one trying out at this time. (she made it, too)

And we finished the day with dinner out... happy birthday eve to Max too!!

Moving Adventure

Our last ten days in Ohio were filled. Ross left to drive one car full of stuff out and to sign in to his new work station, the kids finished up school, Ross flew back to Ohio to see Zoey's soccer tournament and help with our final moving days, Zoey had her final soccer tournament, and then we packed up, cleaned up, and headed out! Zoey got asked to guest play on another soccer team, so many of our weekends were filled to the brim with games. But we really enjoyed it and were thankful for the opportunity to be out of our apartment during the weekends. It was a little sad to say goodbye to a place we lived for almost five years! It is the longest place I have every lived in my entire life, which is a little crazy to me. We had a lot to look forward to, however, so it was time to move along...

My plan was to get pictures as we crossed all of the state lines, but not get out of the car... Well, I was pretty unsuccessful! Something always came up or got in the way. here we are going into Missouri... no Indiana, no Illinois..

All I got from Kansas was a windmill... which I am glad to see because all of my memories of driving in Kansas are with wind and road construction!
IMG_2313

The kids got these dogs somewhere right before the trip (I think from the dentist) and so they became our travel companions. We watched to see how long they stayed in place...
IMG_2320

And Colorado... this sign never makes sense to me... Why is it brown while welcoming you to colorful Colorado? Are they trying to highlight the colors by making the sign boring???... and we you enter from the Kansas side, it just looks like Kansas. Just sayin'

Sweet Gum Tree

As we walked home from school each day in Ohio, living in our apartment, we passed by some sweet gum trees. Zoey loved to pick up these pods and collect them. I think she mostly did it to aggravate Max.

They are pretty cool looking though.

Last Day of School

So, here I am trying to get the kids registered for their new schools and blogging about their last day of school! Nice. Ever feel like your life is in a holding pattern? That's where we are.

Anyway, at the very end of May, the kids finished up 5th and 2nd grade! Crazy for sure.

And Zoey moving on to middle school... WHat??

IMG_2273

At the end of the day, the fifth graders tour the school one final time. Kind of sad. Here is Zoey. Her best buddy Codie is in front of her.

Soccer Max

Most of Max's soccer games were either rainy, or I was helping coach. So, I finally got some pictures on the last game... the cutest ones were on the sideline though...

Talent Show- Zoey on the Hula Hoop

Zoey was in the talent show again this year. She choreographed her routine all by herself! I thought it turned out awesome. So proud of you, Z:)

Here is the video...

and the link, if that doesn't work...

Everyone thought she did good. The principal spoke with her afterwards too. I am proud of her for getting up in front of everyone with no problems.

huddle

I just thought this was so sweet... it was rainy, rainy and these baby geese huddled together. They are so intertwined that you can't even tell how many are in the huddle. They would work to get close together as well.

Oh My!

Wow, so long since I have gotten on here. I am just going to keep plugging along in the order of the pictures, and try and get caught up. I still want to capture and document it all, so this is the best way for me to do it. Still blogging duck pictures? yep, here we go...

A cold, rainy, May day back in Ohio... didn't seem like we would have spring!
IMG_2095

A goose mama and her baby... I like that pictures capture a little personality that I don't think you would notice otherwise.

And then the mama duck and baby showed up! They were a favorite. We think it is Bobarina, so we named the baby BJ... or just BABY...

My favorite duck of all ended up being one we called Skinny. He didn't stay skinny, however. He wasn't afraid of us at all. He knew when we came home and opened up the blinds. He would come walking up to say hi and get some food. And the best part... He could catch the food when you through it to him! I was so impressed. Not all of them could catch on the fly like he could. Thus, I fed him more and he was no longer skinny. the end.
