Probably one of Ross's favorite things in Colorado is all the local craft beers. We have tried a bunch at the actual breweries, if they serve food, but he can also buy them at various stores which is cool too. When we lived in Ohio, one of the places that we actually really miss is a restaurant that brought in all kinds of fun beers (Spinoza's). The owner definitely enjoyed flavors and foodie stuff because he also made crazy good ice cream flavors as well... anyway,
I am not a beer person, but I am a foodie. I love to try new things and interesting flavors, and so this place allowed me to try some interesting beers in a food type of way. does that even make sense? all this to say, it's a fun part of being here... and well, Cheers!

23 May - Finals

Well, being in middle school and all, Zoey actually had finals... Here is her crazy huge Trapper Keeper! She did a great job juggling finals with soccer tryouts and the last week of school!

22 May - Let Them Eat Cake!

I bought these ginormous (that's a word? I am not getting spellchecked) cupcakes on this day because I had an idea for the picture. The kids were looking at me, like, "What? are we taking these home!" They are that big. And even though I love cupcakes, I don't buy them too often... except, to LET THEM EAT CAKE!!!!!

21 May - Fav Sport

Well, we definitely watch a lot of soccer around here. I loved to play, and it is so fun to watch too!! Zoey was in a tournament and had tryouts... At some point, she wrote "BE BOSS" on her wrist to keep her motivated... I had to capture it...



And on a funny side note... tattoos...

when I see writing on Zoey I am never surprised. She has been writing on herself since birth and she would cover her body in sticker or bandaids as well. I will not be surprised the day she comes and shows me her real tattoo... Anyway, remember my Bible verse about Being Still? Well, I wrote it on my wrist like this after I saw someone tattoo love written in a script writing that I liked. I just had it there for a day to remind myself of it... So, if our entire family were to get tatoos... reflective of our personalities, here is what they would be...

Max got this version of Jenga and I found it one day all rainbow colorized....




He used to do that to any food/candy he ate too. Like little m&m's; he would sort them by color and eat them in order of the rainbow!

19 May - looking down

I'm on the patio, and Zoey is playing with Leo down below. He's a good dog for her. She has control, and can scoop him up and carry him around like a baby if she wants:) It's actually hard to tell from this above angle, but he's quite a jumper too...

Ross had no idea what I was doing when I stepped away from the open fridge for a second, so it is funny that I caught his head in the picture...

I got some angry birds stuff for max, and glitter and aliens too for everyone. Ross just usually picks one thing and does a good job on like three eggs. One year he did Spongebob...


my attention to detail and creativity aren't not on par with his, so I just use the kit. still cute with googly eyes:)

Zoey still likes it to a point, but as she gets older, it definitely is less...

14 May - Locked Screen

My lock screen on my phone usually has a picture of some sort. The kids put Leo on there forever. They didn't want me to change it. But I need some verbal inspiration lately... Most often people know the bible verse, "Be still and know that I am God" from Psalm 46:10... It is a good one, but I also like this Be Still- and that is what is on my phone -

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still - Exodus 14:14

Did I mention that I was getting my categories for these pictures from two different lists? Well, how ironic that today was both "in your yard" and "Spring" and this is what that looked like on this May 12th....

11 May - Kitchen

A view of our kitchen. I don't have a super wide angle lens to give you the best view, but here is our kitchen.



I will have to do a house tour sometime, including our Ohio house just to see the differences. We have had a lot of fun both in the downsizing and the decorating. We knew we were going to sell our house in Ohio so we didn't stray too far from the traditional in terms of paint and decor, but with this house, we are just having some fun...

May Ten on the Tenth

The idea is to take ten photos on the tenth of the month and share it, documenting a day of your life and the ordinary moments. There is beauty in the ordinary.

It's fun when the 10th falls on a Saturday...

On this Saturday in New Mexico my sister was graduating with her Master's in New Mexico. Congratulations, Tina.

Ross gets up so early for work and his commute, so even on Saturdays he's up before the sun...

Dog walked, now making breakfast.


Packing up the truck to head to Zoey's soccer game. It was a lovely morning and a good win by her team!!



I'm so bad about taking pictures at her games. I just love to watch them, and they play so well, I think, for the age that they are, that it is hard for me to turn my attention away.


Zoey has to be at the field an hour before the game, so that gives us quite a bit of time... Luckily, dogs are allowed at most parks and soccer fields, so we bring Leo and head out for a walk... or a jog... or jumps!




Ross's mom and dad came to the soccer game and because we had more soccer planned for Mother's Day, we had a fun lunch today! Here we are on the roof at the Louisville Rex.




We sat in low, lounge type seats with a table at our seat height. It made it a little hard to eat, but it was very fun to sit like that so casually on the roof before our food came out!

And then, Ross's early morning caught up with him... actually, he could lay down at anytime of the day and take a nap like this. not me...

kids doing something on the computer. they are together and they aren't fighting, so that is good in my book. They used to be so good together, but times are a changing... such is growing up and family life, I suppose.


A lovely day turned into a not so lovely night. We already had to bundle up for our evening walk... all in preparation for our Mother's Day snowstorm the next day.... booo..... Did I mention I wasn't a fan of snow in April? Well, you can imagine my thoughts on snow in May!

10 May - Something that represents you

I like pictures and love my family, but with the digital age, we just don't print out pics as much as we used to. So, I have this picture holder to put snapshots in and it is lovely to see my families smiling faces. I need to get more printed out, as you can see...

9 May - Yummy!

A big hooray for this category!! I mean, yummy, really? This Friday we went to our favorite Belgian brewery (that also serves food). It is in our cute little downtown, so we walk to the brewery early enough that kids can go and we play board games and have yummy! frites and pizzas!! I always think I have had enough after we are done, but when Friday rolls around again... I keep thinking of those frites! Ross even jokes that I am like the dog and his treats. lovely.

8 May - Something You Can't Live Without

So with this category {something you can't live without} I could have gotten pretty sentimental... however I decided to be a realist. Plus, my family will get a little chuckle (hi mom!). I seriously can't live without chapstick or lip balm (whatever you want to call it). My entire life, no matter where I live, or what climate I am in, I need it. I have so many school pictures with crazy crazy chapped lips. It looks like I was trying to grow a lip on top of my lip because it was so bright red.

Anyway, I try lots of different kinds, but I am sort of partial to the unscented, tasteless ones. Burt's bees honey is a fav.... But here is some I gathered for a picture

6 May - Geometric

I saw this map of the US and it showed how people have different words for things. Living in Massachusetts opened our eyes to tons of different words like this. This is a picture of a sign for a traffic circle in our neighborhood. I had forgotten in New England they call it a Rotary!

5 May - Something That Makes You Happy!!!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!! Ole!

We had our fiesta with just the four of us this year. Not the same, but we made the best of it... with the Cinco de Mayo Music on Pandora, fajitas and margaritas!!

3 May - What Inspires You!

This one was hard for me and when I mentioned it to Zoey she quickly said that the answer is easy- her "Baby" Leo inspires her to be happy... so, I did this one for her...
