Here are the workers coming up with a plan (I'm guessing they are discussing the way to fix it properly in very scientific terms). And yes, still snow on the ground, mid March! Yuck!
You can see the original "patch"- small enough that maneauvering around it was not an issue.

And then they just went crazy and dug up a huge hole! There is now exactly enough room to get your car around the hole and barricades. Add in 8 guys and their pick-ups, a dump truck and a cement mixer, and a digger (yes, I still prefer the preschool names of the work trucks) and goodness, barely an inch of breathing room!

I took these pictures on their lunch break. They decided to do this digging on the day that I had to leave the house about ten billion times. So each time, I had to look out the window first, and assess the situation... See where the dump truck was or the cement mixer truck, so I could plan my exit. They were very nice and usually stopped what they were doing and move out of the way as much as possible! Of course, that only meant that the guys would turn and watch me back out of my driveway and maneuver around this mess!

It's not like I can't back my car up, really, I can. I just didn't like doing it 7 times in front of people watching me all while trying not to hit my mailbox or the fire hydrant, or fall into the giant hole! See the scoop from the digger? I think they left that there just for me! A little extra barricade so I didn't take a plunge.
