One of the days during Christmas Break, we decided to head to Downtown Denver for a couple of things...
I first wanted to check out their ChristKindl Market. The ones in Germany are such a fond memory, and I had read about Denver's being good and somewhat authentic feeling... Well, authentic is not the word I would use, but it was nice to see. I wouldn't go again though.
Here's a picture from the Beer garden (tent).
My memories of Germany are a little fairytale-like... And it's possible I could be remembering it falsely, but I remember once in high school, it was dark, and cold, and you could smell the chestnuts roasting and the gluh wein and it actually started snowing... So anyway, my family is a good sport in trying to find all things authentic German (I have made them go to various restaurants/events) and well, I am always disappointed...the search continues...
We also went to the Tattered Cover Bookstore in an old building downtown... bookstores are always a hit with Max.
And then we headed to the redone Union Station... It was lovely inside. We had already eaten at the German Market, but next time, it would be fun to eat there.
