more random and november daily pics

took Leo to the dog park... he likes to instigate things with the big dogs and then run under the park bench where they can't fit...

Christmas lights, setting up for our Christmas card...

And this is our town! no populations in Colorado, bragging rights go to elevations, apparently.

And crazy clouds one day!

November daily picture - theme was MUSIC!

crazy icicles!

Another November daily picture was FORK... here are two, I couldn't decide between.

And Little Leo has to be in the mix of everything. Here he is "helping" Ross put together a bench...

Waneka Lake and Park

We took a walk around Waneka Lake...

played on the playground...

These next two are some of my favorites that I have taken of Max in a long time. It really captures him, but also makes him look a lot older!

again...

Playing Catch Up! Again... I was in the middle of doing my November photo challenge when a crazy deadline came up and then we went on vacation for Thanksgiving... So I tried to keep up, but didn't do so well... Here is a random bunch of pictures.

Happy Puppy sleeping away..

Right across the street from us is a property that has horses. These guys come right up to you if you walk to the fence. Leo thinks he is something fierce and growls and barks like crazy at the horses. They don't even bat an eye.

Halloween

Halloween was fun this year. For the first time the kids got to dress up for school and actually trick or treat on HALLOWEEN!! (in Ohio we had a Beggar's Night where they trick or treated on a random day and only had Harvest parties at school.)

Anyway, they both dressed up and Max's school actually walked in a parade through downtown where the kids trick or treated with all of the local businesses! They have done this for 40 years and it was so cool!

So Max was dressed as Dave, the Minion, from the Despicable Me movies. Check out his Facebook page!

Here's Max:

Here's his class. His teacher was Alice in Wonderland!

Here we are walking downtown. Lots of parents actually dressed up too.

I didn't get a lot of pictures of Zoey because I didn't see her at school and she trick or treated with another girl in the neighborhood. But she was an Egyptian princess of some sort... She designed and helped make most of it:

Leo had a sombrero hat and definitely DID NOT like it, but Zoey was so excited for him to wear it... we tried!
IMG_3639

Not a good one of Max, but it shows Leo better and our attempt at his costume.

Max stripped out of his costume before trick or treating at the neighbor's house.

And we made him get it back on for the rest!

It was a fun, but very chilly Halloween!

And who else thinks the next day should be no school??

pumpkin patch bust

So, I usually love the pumpkin patch. The beautiful colors make for pretty pictures and usually you can go on a warm/sunshiney day to enjoy it all. Our schedule was so packed this fall that we couldn't make it! Finally, on Oct 29, with cold temps, on a Tuesday afternoon, we made it!! And just for the sake of keeping it real- it was a huge bust.

The pumpkins were all rotted out, Max didn't want to be there, Ross was grumpy because he had to drive in and meet us after work and there were good pumpkins to buy at the front but I was trying to get them out in the fields and well...

Here's Max complaining!
IMG_3609

Zoey wanted to be there and was a good sport about it since there was hardly a pumpkin to be found.

Still grumpy...

The best we could find!

IMG_3616

This made me think of the movie The Birds!
IMG_3617

So part of the problem was that our October was crazy. I have a rule that I don't get pumpkins until October. So, my note to self, is to get over it and next year go in September if the opportunity arises.

We didn't even carve the pumpkins because we only had time after Halloween and by then it just seemed silly. Oh well.

A Walk with a Pup

Still back in October, I took Leo for a walk around the lake. There was snow in the mountains but fall colors still on the trees, so I brought my camera along too. The city next to us has hot air balloon rides all the time and you see them from the lake.

The Flatirons didn't have snow though.

Zoey Soccer

Well, I had another blogging fail, as I am behind again and didn't get all of my November pictures done! Poo. But, I did have a crazy deadline to meet and then went out of town, so back at it..

Here is some pictures of Zoey playing soccer. Before the game we went for a walk and saw these guys:

It was so nice and warm on the walk and then the game started and it got windy and the temperature dropped... It was so cold. I still haven't figured out this whole Colorado weather deal... I always get caught... too hot, too cold, crazy rainstorm...

Anyway, I didn't get great or many pictures but here they are:

It looks nice and lovely out but don't buy it... it was getting colder by the second. Max and the dog had to go to the car.
