December 10 on the 10th

I have one more set of pictures from San Diego, but I need to get this December 10 on here before January's!

The idea is to take ten photos on the tenth of the month and share it, documenting a day of your life and the ordinary moments. There is beauty in the ordinary.

Although sometimes I feel silly or even think it is pointless to document a day like this, when I go back and look through my pictures, they are filled with favorites. It does what it says... captures our everyday in a way that I wouldn't remember otherwise, and I love that.

Packing up lunches. The monotony of it kills me... but making your food match your bag is always fun!

He is not always so smiley when he wakes up, but he was excited all December. To get to break and to get to Christmas!

Morning walk with Leo.

Headed to the post office! had to get those Christmas packages in the mail!!

car selfie with Leo... he is really hard to selfie with.

St Nicholas Day brought Zoey a Christmas cookie recipe book. I was looking through them while waiting to pick up Max. We were each making a list to see what we should make!
IMG_8293

And our Advent calendar! This year I put in Bible verses that told the story of Jesus' birth. Max took control! We still had chocolate too!

A little Christmas tree bokeh, because twinkly lights are my fave.

We try and make lots of green smoothies. Here is Ross with his.

Leo loves lots of things, but his stuffed toy, and his dad are definitely favorites. Whenever Ross lays down, Leo tries to snuggle on him! So funny.

other random pictures

Just a couple of other random photos from my phone I had to capture from our trip...

running on the beach!

Friday was all day soccer. An early morning game, then team lunch at the beach, then watching a boys showcase game, and finally another game... I didn't even play and I was worn out!

Zoey and her friend at lunch...

Palm tree selfie!! look ma, I have a palm tree growing out of my head!

and then just a regular selfie

We found a brewery right by our hotel with mediterranean food that was yummy and beer, of course. And we sat on the rooftop patio... so southern california, and so lovely (we may have gone three times while we were there!)

and panorama shot

My dad and I went on an early morning bagel run and had some mustache selfies!

it was our best coffee of the trip, so Ross and I had to get some the next day!

are mustaches so 2014? guess we'll see.

Zoey and Ross went boogie boarding... they went way out trying to catch some good waves. and then Max took the board and just had a blast coming in on the close waves by the beach

And on Monday after all was done, we went to the San Diego Zoo for probably the best zoo day ever. Perfect weather, not crowded at all, and just so enjoyable.

on the bus tour checking the place out before exploring on foot.

and the zoo is pretty big, so they have a gondola to ride...

one of our first dates was at this zoo and Ross and I took a selfie on the gondola... sort of like this one.

Such a nice, relaxing week... Soccer was great too! Zoey was player of the tournament, we are proud of her.

Team Soccer on the Beach

On Thanksgiving, Zoey and her teammates got together to make some goals for the Spring Season and then to have some fun playing soccer on the beach! I don't take a lot of game pictures, but I had fun taking some pictures of this. It was getting dark, so I have some blurry shots, but they are still fun.

They played and then we went in to have Thanksgiving at the hotel. It was a small buffet, but really not too bad. I definitely liked being able to be there with my family and not cook or clean up!

Zoey actually said it was pretty hard. so lumpy, hard to run. but they had fun.
Here's a blurry one of Zoey going after the coach. Two funny things... he usually gets out of the way when she comes after him in practice because he knows she doesn't go easy. And he told me later he had to tell her to not go 100%, but she told me (without knowing what he said) that she was taking it easy out there, since it was her own team! very competitive, that girl.
