Gift

The other Friday we were given a great gift of winter.

THE SNOW DAY!

The awesome day off from everything that leaves you with a blessing of a free day to relax and enjoy and play and not feel guilty about any of it! My outlook on winter would be a whole lot better if we could get these more often! HAHA

Well, we took advantage of our gift, indeed. We stayed in pajamas until we dressed in snow clothes to go outside and play.

First we had to shovel a little path out of the driveway to get to a tiny hill in the neighborhood. Clearly their shoveling is more fun than productive. That is the joy of being a kid.

Just some cute shots of the kids. (we LOVE the new hats, Grandma:)

Did I mention this was a tiny sledding hill? As in, it probably doesn't even qualify for a hill. Ross wasn't home yet, so we were waiting before we hit the big one! They still had fun.

I was going to crop this one, but I love Max in the background. He gave her the push off and worked hard to do it. You can see it in this picture. He just gave the big push and now is watching the outcome...
All smiles going down!!

And here it is... Winter fun caught on camera! I must use these pictures to remind myself to not be such a grump this time of year.

LOVE this one:

Harlem Globetrotters

I'm a little blogging backlogged, so I still am in 2009 in that respect! On New Year's Eve, we went and saw the Harlem Globetrotters. Our Scooby Doo fan, Max, has some old episodes that include some of the original Globetrotters and he and Zoey think they are hilarious. When I saw that the Globetrotters would be in town, I just had to get tickets. They were very excited! Max actually watched the entire show/game (which is a definite first for him). And Zoey made signs for them!
One of the signs says, "Stay Cool Gobetrotters! Get a Basket!"
My next post may actually be about the New Year! "Twenty-ten" has a nice ring, I think...

Snow Animals, Cocoa and Cookies

We didn't have a white Christmas.

But we have had little bits of snow in between our arctic blasts! The kids went right out to play the first day.

I did mention that is was little bits of snow, right?
Here's the snowman they built. He was as big as they could make him.

Zoey chose to make a "snow-bird"...

An actual bird made out of snow... not to be confused with those midwesterners invading Arizona this time of year...

And here's Max supervising from inside while warming up with some hot chocolate... yum!

And here we are making cookies for Santa!
Max and Zoey decorating. Zoey is keeping one eye on Ross to make sure he isn't sneaking some frosting...

Sprinkles, sprinkles...

Even Ross joined the fun...

And now we get to eat one... the best part! (It is all about her afterall... just kidding)

Good Ole Santa...

Came through!

He's good like that, ya know?

And do you want to know another thing?

Monopoly is a very L-O-N-G game.

That's all I'm going to say about that.
