Wordless Wednesday

The No-Dryer Edition:

At least it's not my washer. I'd be hanging out at the laundromat!

(I guess I can't be wordless. It's just not in my nature.)

Ten on Tuesday

1. We went to a huge waterpark for a couple of days. Max made the 48 inch height requirement for most of the rides (he didn't last year) so we got to ride a ton of rides as a family or groups of two. It made it much more fun!

2. I am always telling my kids to not grow up so fast, but this adventure made me see more clearly that we are just moving onto another stage in our family life and it, too, has its beauty. I was reminded of a time we went to Disneyland with my sister and her kids. The were all having crazy fun together on the big rides and we had a stroller and backpacks and turn-taking and bathroom finding and snack eating...

3. Speaking of the waterpark, when you spend so much time in one, it feels really good to get into dry clothes and just dry out! I am not sure if I could work at one.

4. Zoey and Ross surfed! It was really cool. I was proud of Zoey for just getting out there and trying it with no hesitation. She didn't stand, but she got to her knees and did lots of cool tricks!

5. My parents came out for a visit soon after we got home. Always nice to see them and hang out! Here is Max and Papa being twins!

6. And, as soon as my parents left, Grandma Bette popped in on her way to see her newest grandson! Here she is with Zoey:

7. I could have done a whole Tuesday post on weird things that have shown up around our house, but I figured I'd spare you. EXCEPT for this... hello caught between a tadpole and a frog thing... Gross, right!

8. Our dryer just up and stopped working this week! I called to get a repair man, but by the time he came out and diagnosed and ordered parts, the cost was halfway to a new one! Ross googled around and thought it might be one thing, so we ordered the part. Nope. So we were just about to head to Home Depot, when we checked online one more time and found something else that might be wrong and ordered another part. Let's keep our fingers crossed this is it! Our set is 8 years old and has been through many moves, so if this last thing doesn't work, we are going shopping!

9. So, I actually lied in number 7. I counted it up and I have about 5 weird/gross things (I've totally piqued your interest right?)... my other five would have been flowers. Since my kids avoid me with the camera, I get to take lots of these...

10. Summer is going by too fast. August already at the end of the week! Alas, I leave you with this:

Holiday Weekend

Our Fourth of July weekend was nice and long (Ross had Friday and Monday off) so we tried to make the most of it! Two days were cool and low humidity, so we headed off to the Columbus Zoo where military members and their families got in free! The kids were more interested in the two playgrounds and all of the statues of the animals, so that is what I have pictures of!

Here, Zoey, sit on a baby pig...

Now you, Max...

The wild boars/pigs are always one of my favorites, I think because of Pumbaa!

IMG_4432

I told Zoey to kiss the eel here, but it looks more like she's smelling his breath!

And this one just makes me laugh... nice facial expression:

So, that was the zoo... not one animal picture!

Prior to the fourth, we had to test out our sparklers and bottle rockets!
I just practiced taking pictures in different light...

Here's Zoey showing off her mad hula skills with sparklers!

This one is pretty blurry, but I like the semi silouhette and colors:

The 4th and 5th brought on the heat and humidity... we spent time swimming and with friends on the fourth and then inside the AC on the fifth! Do you remember me mentioning that we were making an ottoman? (probably not, I think we started 3 months ago or something!) Well, we finished and here it is:

We just have to stain or paint the little feet. I wouldn't normally say I was an animal print type of gal, but I like it... What do you think?

Looking So Grown Up and Outdoor Play!

I was thinking about some old summer pictures the other day and remembered this cute one of Zoey enjoying a watermelon...

IMG_0919

She's about 22 months in this picture. I love her chubby cheeks, little curls and the watermelon ALL down the front of her shirt!

The other day, the kids were playing with Ross in the yard and I couldn't believe how tall and grown Zoey was all of sudden looking to me... Is this even the same girl??

Just some random fun shots:
