Rusty Gold

Our family watches American Pickers on the History Channel together. The two main guys go traveling throughout the US looking for all kinds of stuff to buy and then resell. They love old collectors items and anything weird. They call lots of treasures (old bikes, cars, signs, tin toys, etc) Rusty Gold!

Ross went for a run the other day and found an old wagon! We all went treasure hunting around it!

It was in our neighborhood, where they are building a new phase of houses, so Ross let the kids ride in the back of the truck through the dirt road!
They love that part.




Here is Zoey saying "that doesn't make any sense!" her signature phrase!





Part of the wagon wheel... we found a company marking, and looked it up on-line. This wagon is at least a hundred years old.

The Bolt Zoey is holding was her treasure. She was proud of it and took it home to redo it... its all painted now!

Birdies

We waited until they hatched and left to remove the nest to powerwash the deck...

Look how perfect this nest is... amazing!


And not a week later, another nest was built in the same space! I guess it is a good spot! My mom said the Chinese say it is good luck if the birds nest in your home, so maybe we are double-y so:) It goes with the song... Every little thing's gonna be alright!

Max Rides a Bike!

I didn't think it would ever come! Max has a really cool trike with pneumatic tires and is pretty big in size, so he liked it. He could go forwards and backwards and everywhich way without holding on, so the idea of learning to ride a bike just wasn't exciting. BUT, we finally got him to try. We don't do training wheels... Ross zip-ties a broom handle to the back and we just run along with him until he gets it. It is pretty cool. Both Zoey and Max learned to ride a bike in a day, so it works...



Here he is with the stick behind him on Zoey's old bike!


So, for his birthday, he got a brand new bike!
He's really doing well. I'm a little afraid of him going too fast, but I guess he will learn!


No more stick!

Funny Series of Pictures

I was trying to get some pictures of the kids again...

I can usually tempt Zoey buy asking for an action shot...




I am not sure what she is doing here, but it makes me laugh!


And then, I can ask her to take a couple more... she did this posing all on her own so I went with it... they are all similar, I just like them all...



Her freckles really show up in these shots!



Now she is getting pensive on me!




I see the blend of who she is right now... caught between a little kid and a big kid...

Day 151 - Shooting Hoops

I have always wanted a basketball goal. We finally decided to get one and are having fun shooting hoops in the evenings as a family. (Sometimes I even play by myself)
