This is Ross doing his "Joe America" pose... It is sort of a family joke. On a trip to England some lady said he was the perfect American stereotype (she meant that as a complement), and thus got the nickname of "Joe America" and we have him in this pose in so many different locations around the country and with other people too... My sister also calls it the "everyman pose" and her kids do it in pictures too! So here it is in silhouette...

Here he is with the kids:

And some jumping silhouettes... which is hard to do! Goodness, trying to get the light behind them just right... Ross jumped a lot for me, and still didn't get it quite right;)

I LOVE this one, though... I love that it is a silhouette and that it captures the kids cute little profiles. And I crack up when I look at it because it looks like we told them to stand at attention!! So funny!

And little smoochy-smoochy pic taken by Zoey:) The cute one about this is that I was being silly and put one of my feet up like in the movies or something, but Zoey focused on our faces!

I think that last one needs to be printed and framed, girl- it's awesome!
Ii wish I had the guts to go hay bale jumping, I've seen it on other blogs, too, it looks like a carefree way to spend some time with family :)
I think I was inspired by the Pioneer Woman and her ranch life:) I just need a basset hound!
oh my goodness -- I LOVE these! Please way you jumped around on them, too? :) Looks like so much fun. I LOVE the last picture. Please also say that its printed/on your fridge. :)

great shots. i think you nailed the jumping ross one. i'm totally going to start looking for the "joe" pose in your posts from now on. :)
Awesome pictures Jill! The last 2 are amazing. I guess Zoey is following in your photographer footsteps. I really need to get some lessons from you! By the way....where are those hale bays? I may have to steal your idea, looks like you guys had a blast.
Great Pictures! Love it!
I especially like the 'every man' poses!!!
I had stopped by your blog and saw these a few weeks ago. Loved the pics and tried a few myself here in Seoul but need to try again with my kids. This post like so many of yours make me stop and enjoy simple things and sharing them with my own family.
Don't you get butterflies in your stomach just looking at that last picture...your love story.
