Monet in Ohio

Growing up in Europe provided many opportunities that just wouldn't have happened if I lived in the US. One such opportunity was a field trip to France when I was in ninth grade. It was not meant to be your typical, see all the tourist spots, type of trip. We stayed in some dorms of students who were on a break and went to a bunch of impressionist artists museums (think Claude Monet and Rodin). That was it! A week spent in Paris museums! It was very cool and left an impression (Ha!) on me. To this day, I love impressionist paintings, especially Monet.

So, fast forward to today... I took the kids to Cox Arboretum to see the butterfly house! One of the gems of our local area is its Metroparks System, and this Arboretum is part of that. They include gardens, arboretums, marketplaces, and historical farms. We have been to a lot of them and I am always pleasantly surprised by how well they are taken care of and the beauty the provide. Well, wouldn't you know, they have a "Monet Bridge" and surrounding area that replicates this painting!

I was a little bit excited since I actually had my camera!

Here is my ode to Monet in Ohio:)
