While we were in Colorado over our Christmas break, we stayed at Ross's childhood home. There are still some old toys and things of his hidden in closets and such. When Ross and his brother and sister were kids, they all had Pound Puppies (remember those? I think they still make them), and our kids got a hold of Ross's old pup. They were very excited about it and asked if they could bring it back home with us. Of course, Ross said yes and told them that's it's name was Spanky, after the Little Rascal's character.
Fast forward to home and Spanky gets to come out and join the rest of the stuffed dogs we have
taking over in our house. Both kids start giving Spanky a voice and talking with her and playing and over and over they keep saying SHE. 99% of the dogs in our house are girls, so naturally, Spanky would be too. It's what they are used to right?
WELL, apparently this messes with Ross a little bit. He would not have had a girl dog! So, every once in a while, he shouts out a reminder, "Spanky's A BOY!" The kids just look up at him for a second and then go about their play.
As for Spanky, well, she doesn't seem to mind.
