The Things They Say

This is just going to be random...

Max... he is such a literal and funny character. He says things that we all want to say when we are frustrated and he definitely makes us laugh!

He is not one to talk just for the sake of talking, BUT if its something he is really into, he definitely shares his thoughts with you!

When we went on our vacation over Christmas, we did the usual... Sat in the airport, boarded the plane, flew on the plane, landed , waited to exit the plane and then got off at our destination. I know you really needed that rundown, right? Well, when we landed and got to the gate, everyone quickly unbuckled their seatbelts and stood up. And then just waited. Max (in his not so quiet voice)said, "Come on! Why isn't anybody moving!!" And then, "We are standing here FOREVER!!"

Once we finally got off the plane and walked back into the airport in Phoenix he said, "What? We are right back where we started!" You could tell he was crushed. He had suffered through a four hour flight to be right back in the same spot! He was so disappointed until we explained it was a different airport! Funny to see it through his eyes.

Another thing he has been doing lately is weighing the good and bad of any situation. Sometimes, it is funny. He will spill his water or something and quickly say, "the bad news is... water is all over the floor, BUT the good news? I still have some left to drink in my cup!" Or, he was playing in the basement in Ross' parents house, near some glass top tables. He fell into one of them and we asked if he was okay and he replied, "The bad news is I fell, the good news? The table didn't break!"

At least he is positive!!

Zoey makes us laugh in a different way! I am enjoying the fact that the kids are older and our conversations are more interesting, but they still make me realize how different and new the world is to them.

Zoey was getting ready for a soccer game and she said, "I'm ready to go smoke!" What?? Oh, yeah, she must have overheard her mama saying she was gonna smoke her dad on run! Haha!

We sometimes watch America's Funniest Videos, and if you are familiar with the show, or you can just imagine, a lot of videos involve some guy getting hit in the crotch and falling over. We had to explain this to her a while back and she learns actually how to be careful in Tae kwon do and stuff when kicking people in class. Anyway, she jumped in the car the other day and said, "They should just rename AFV (America's Funniest Videos) to "half the time someone gets hit in the penis!"
Max thinks that part of the show is HILARIOUS and she just sort of shakes her head and says, "I don't get the humor!"

And to add to the randomness of this post... I love the pictures of kids with their eyelashes showing and the real shallow depth of field (that makes the rest of the face out of focus), so I was trying to capture that the other day. I have to work on it. I think these are just okay.
