So, November 1st was TGIF!
When Ross was deployed, the most applicable advice I got was to not look at how much time you have to be separated but to literally take it a week at a time, and sometimes just by the day. The kids and I got into the groove of going out to dinner on Friday nights to celebrate another week. I would sink into the chair after the hostess sat us and almost breathe a sigh of relief to just relax for the next hour. The tradition continued even after Ross came home and it definitely became something we all looked forward to at the end of the week.
When we moved here, we were so overscheduled that when school started, we would pick up Max on Friday, come home, then pick up Zoey, and then drive to her soccer practice, and then drive to Max's soccer game, and by the time we ate, everyone was so tired that it wasn't enjoyable, or we just grabbed Chick Fil A... That big long run on sentence to say... we missed our Friday dinner's out! So, we finally finished up the soccer seasons and had a free Friday! It was so nice, and definitely TGIF...
