Origami Peace Cranes

Zoey's Girl Scout troop was making origami cranes as a fun raiser for Japan, and Zoey took on the assignment with gusto!

She ended up doing 360!

She got creative and used magazine pages and comic book pages (don't tell max!) to make some too. They were neat.

She got really good at it and could just whip one up in no time!

I even joined in to make a couple. It was very relaxing... the methodical folding of paper, with straight edges and tight folds. Almost instant gratification...

I read today on the plane that if you fold 1000 cranes (the practice of folding 1000 cranes actually has a name) you enable good fortune. -ross

Ashleigh's troop made some cranes, too- but we only contributed ONE since we forgot to be on top of the due date! I'm glad to know there are girls like Zoey that are making up for the rest of us. ANd they turned out really cute, too!
