OH, hello, blog....

Looks like I am back to playing catch up again!!

Here are just a couple of random pictures from my iPhone that I wanted to capture...

Max at his first soccer game this season. Every other one has been freezing!! So, I hope to get my camera out one night, but we'll see. Forecast for the next game is rainy/snowy too! And yes, that would be a turf football field Max is on, but whatever, they just put cones and goals up and play soccer. It is under lights which is kind of cool.

And another one of Max climbing in a tree.

His hands got full of sap, though, which sort of ruined the experience for him. Not sure if he'll do that again.

And this next one really makes me smile... Makes loves the Minions from the Despicable Me movies. One assignment he had was to color a picture for his binder at school. Ross did a drawing and Max colored it in. I love all of it, but especially his coloring, so so cute.

And Zoey's soccer team has won 3 of the 3 tournaments they have played in this fall, including the state championship. They are a pretty darn good group of 10-11 year olds. It is fun to watch... Here they are:

And for back to school night, Max drew a self portrait and he told me to guess which one was him. I took the picture and sent it to Ross so I could see if I was right! (Phew, I was:)

And during that back to school night, it started raining. Like, seriously raining. I was walking to my car and the water was rushing down the street so fast that when I crossed it, the water was almost up to my knees! I was, like, ummm, I thought I was in Colorado? Where there is a drought? All kidding aside, the rain is what began as the 100 yr flood in Boulder. Craziness, really.

The kids had four days off of school and Ross couldn't go to work one day because he couldn't get out of Boulder because all the roads were closed. And one night, we actually had evacuation orders to "move to higher ground!" The kiddos were a little freaked out by that one, for sure. We were in our big brick apartment building, so it was fairly safe. Ross went out and checked all around and decided we were better off staying put. The little houses all around us got flooded though.

After most of the rain had stopped, we went walking by our apartment. Here is the street filled with mud and debris...

And a little view of the mountains with low clouds... kind of the calm after the storm....

And you might have seen this rescue on the news... We drive by (and sometimes on!) this road almost every single day!!

When we first moved to Ohio, in September, we had a crazy dry hurricane that knocked power out for 11 days and the kids missed school for that too. When you make it all about me, it is sort of like a crazy weather welcoming committee every time I move somewhere!! (that started out as a joke, but its not so funny anymore)

So, that is a little catch up with iPhone pictures. I have lots more to come!
