This boy - warms my heart each day. He is tender and sweet and loving. I bought him new pajamas for fall and the other day he said, "hey mommy, thank you so much for my new pj's!"

And he continues to crack me up every.single.day! He has days of the week underwear, and in the middle of a soccer game decides to check out what pair he is wearing. I ask him later what was going on and he said, "Well, whenever I forget what day it is, I just check out my underwear!"
The other day we were headed to dinner for Zoey's birthday. Her choice was Texas Roadhouse, which they both like. Before we left I asked if Zoey wanted to go by Kohl's too because we needed to exchange a shirt for a different size. Max heard this but didn't say anything. When I announced it was time to go, he immediately protested with big "NO's!" I told him we were going to Texas Roadhouse and he cheered and said "yay, and yes, and I'm ready!" And then he turned to me matter-of-factly and said, "Whenever you say, It's time to go!, I always say No, until you tell me it is something fun, and then I say YES!"
Oh, ya think? Sorry buddy, but we figured that one out a LONG time ago. Probably from your sister. Thanks for being honest, though.
And finally, the other day we went to Starbucks and I had to go to the bathroom really bad! It was crazy busy, so I made the kids come into the big bathroom with me. Max immediately dropped his drawers to try and go, but was just standing there waiting.... I really had to go, and asked him to please hurry or let me go first. He turned to me and said with excitement, "Mommy, but this way you get to do your potty dance!"
Yes, this kid brings me laughter and smiles every day. Love you Max:)
Oh and this girl...
Has the greatest heart. She is so thoughtful and kind. She knows just when to give me a hug and a smile and even a little back rub. She's old enough to understand the sadness that comes with our current situation and I am thankful she is near me each day during it.

She is also just killing it on the soccer field this season and it is AWESOME! I know Ross hates missing this, too. She is incredibly determined and so darn fast! I am amazed by her every day. Love you Zoey!
We miss you, Ross

You are such a great Mom! Sorry that you are having to go through this right now. Soon it will be over and just a memory of when Ross deployed. We just went through this last year. So if you need someone I am just down the road...
Oh Jill! I love you so much. You are so strong and your children so warm and wonderful! I pray for you guys everyday during your separation. Even when you don't hear from me, I'm thinking of you! And always at random times....
Big hugs for all three of you. And Ross too as I know he is lonely without the three of you as well!
