Our March 6th Family Date Night

March 6th is our special date night. It started with a first date. The date was easy to remember too, because I was down in LA to run the marathon that year, the day before (March 5th, I had the t-shirt) and so the next day Ross and I had what we kind of consider our first date. Since it was so nice and of course, the start of something lovely, a year later we decided to repeat the date. And so a tradition began...

This year on March 6th we were actually traveling back from our fun weekend at a waterpark, and decided to postpone our special dinner so that we could all enjoy it a little more (we were a little tired and grumpy from the drive home).

So, that Friday, we headed to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner.

he started off being a little stinker but I remind them of the importance of this day (all serious and stuff) and they behave really well! Yes! Score for Mom.

I should dig up a picture of Ross and I from the time (I don't have one from that day) just for fun. For now, here we are...

ross missed a ton of stuff while deployed (you know, like Christmas). I would have been sad if he missed this day too. I look forward to it because it is our family day.

In restaurants we sometimes sit the kids next to each other now. I love to be able to see them both. It is a weird little difference, but I like it.

After dinner, we headed to the bookstore.
